Get Ready, Set, Read!
So you’re having twins. How will it be? Are you scared? Nervous? Excited? Do you have any idea what to expect? Are you going to prepare differently than if it was just a single pregnancy? How will this affect you emotionally and physically? There are many things I did that I feel helped me to have a healthy pregnancy (in fact I carried to 37 weeks) and helped me feel more prepared in general. These are the books I found to be THE MOST HELPFUL:
What to Expect When You’re Expecting
When You’re Expecting Twins, Triplets and Quads
How to Have Your Second Child First
Babywise
Happiest Baby on the Block
Baby Whisperer
Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Twins
These books will not only prepare you for what to expect, but they will also get you thinking about what kind of parent you want to be and how you are going to handle having not one, but 2 little human beings to take care of. There is some contradictory advice between some of them, but my husband and I found this is exactly what we needed to customize a plan of attack that worked best with our lives and parenting philosophy.
